Is it Well With Your Soul?

Published June 26, 2025

So many times, we complete surveys to provide information about our daily habits (albeit good or bad), so we can gauge how well we are doing in keeping ourselves healthy and in what areas we can improve.  It is wise to make such an assessment of our spiritual wellness to see if there are areas the Holy Spirit would reveal to us as being in need of help.

I multi-task. By putting on Christian music just loud enough to hear in the kitchen, I start making breakfast, packing lunches, and getting my husband off to work. In so doing,

I am putting Christ first – women are created to multitask! We can be meditating on the music while our hands are busy.  Driving to work, I listen to the Holy Bible being read to me (YouVersion). During the day, my mind is on my work, and I pray during quieter moments.

Not every day is busy, and not every day do I feel spiritual. When I am struggling, I come to God first and tell Him I am struggling, and I have learned to trust Him.

May I ask you:

1) Do you believe in God? Are you in a relationship with Him?

 2) What do you believe about prayer? Have you prayed about a pressing need, and God answered? Have you prayed and did not get an answer? How did that make you feel?

3) How important is it to you to spend time reading the Bible? Is there a translation you understand better?

4) Are you likely to seek out someone to pray for you and with you if you have a need?

5) What benefits do you get from attending church with worshippers like you?

6) Do you believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit?

Do NOT be dismayed if you cannot answer all of these questions. Please understand this: God is not unhappy with you. He longs to have a relationship with you and this relationship can and will blossom if you seek to know more about him.
I encourage you to consider journaling. Getting some time to sit down, write the date, and write out a scripture for the day on a 3x5 card. Put a card on your refrigerator, on the bathroom mirror (you should see both every day) and commit it to memory.
As you journal, write out one thing you are thankful for, and what you need for that day.   Ask God to send people your way, believers, who can encourage you and support your walk with Christ.   If you are uncomfortable praying, remember, this is just a conversation with God. Writing out your prayers (date it) can also help track the answers to prayer. This will help build your faith in God and your spiritual growth. Growing in God takes time and continued effort. Seek fellow believers and find a good Bible-believing church to attend.
I am praying for you! Jesus is interceding to the Father in Heaven for you! You already have great support!
